I love science fiction!
Imagine living in a world where a mysterious solar event transformed the sun’s rays from a warm, much desired tan-inducing experience into a horrific clash with deadly immolating rays…. A place where people are forced to live in underground cities and whose diurnal cycle is completely upside down. Now imagine a killer emerges who appears to be unaffected by the deadly rays. The story picks up where this killer targets the party girl daughter of a wealthy Solar power mogul and it falls to a disillusioned solar engineer to protect her.
On my twitter page @SonnieRobin I joked about wearing a lot of sunscreen while reading this because the story itself is so HOT and while reading it I was burning up! I should have added a need for oven mitts as I felt the heat on each page. This, my friend is what we call a great blend of an interesting premise with brilliant writing.
Eclipse #1 is an extremely strong first issue that introduce the readers to the unique world. The protagonist, David Baxter, is believable as someone grudgingly walking headfirst right into a situation he is neither expecting nor not prepared for!
Let’s talk about the art! Mr Timpano did an amazing job his art is very appealing to the eyes and fits this story perfectly.
I’m curious as to what comes next. There’s a lot to play with in the premise that is set up so it will be interesting to see in what direction we are taken.
Got get a copy and try not to get burned :)
